It's about time for me to buy some maternity jeans. My regular ones are becoming too uncomfortable! The problem is, I'm totally unsure how to go about this. There are so many different styles for the waist, and I have no clue what is the best option. Full panel, roll panel, low rise... I just don't know what will fit the best! I've never been much of an online shopper. I enjoy looking online, but I like to go into stores and try things on and see what they really look like and how they fit. However, the malls around us do not have maternity sections in the stores I'm looking at. So I feel stuck! I have found some options I really like at old Navy. (The two pictured above are my favorites!) I also love the selection at Gap, but they are so pricey! I am also wondering, do I pick a size the same as my pre-pregnancy size or go bigger? I'd really like for the jeans to last most of my pregnancy. Is that even possible? This is just all so new :) I know I should not be stressing about this, but I am. I'm not even sure how it works to return close that you order online! So, do any of you have any suggestions? What has worked best for you? I'd LOVE any help with this. Thanks friends!
Emily!
ReplyDeleteI feel your confusion!! I have both styles, and I think both are good... but I've been told that the full panel will be what we want in the 9th month because they are better support:) I ordered mine up one size, just because at this point I'd rather be comfy than stylish. It's funny how that changes so quickly, right?!
I hope this is a little help:)
Blessings...

Here's my opinion. I like the full panel ones, I like that as you get bigger they cover you're entire belly. The half panel makes a line, at least in my case, across my belly like an indentation. It looks pretty funky in fitted shirts. Also, you have to worry less about the panel falling down when it goes up to where you are smaller. It makes sense if you think about it, a half panel is going to keep fall down if it stops where you are the biggest. Some of it depends too on where you're carrying, I know some women continue to wear their normal jeans just below their belly, I couldn't do that unless I wanted crack to show every time I bent over... not cool.
ReplyDeleteAs for sizes. My Gap jeans are my favorite. I bought them this time around and yes they are pricey but remember that if you are planning to have more than one child you'll wear them again. With Gap I just bought my regular size and they are great. There is nothing worse then being 8 months pregnant and feeling like you have nothing that fits. Believe me, as cool as pregnancy is, you will eventually feel, frumpy, fat, and like NOTHING fits. So an good investment will get you all the way through. I wore my jeans all the way to the end, unless I was home and then sweats are just more comfy.
Go to motherhood next time you are in Ft. Wayne and try their jeans just to get a feel for what panel you like. Good luck
Thanks girls, that helps a lot! Hannah, love the idea of stopping by motherhood maternity to try on styles! I plan on Christmas shopping on Tuesday, so I will stop in there too! THANKS AGAIN!!!
ReplyDeleteI would go for the full panel ones. That is what i had. But the styles have changes so much since i had my girls. I say what ever you feel most comfy and what ever fits good.
ReplyDeleteHey emily!!! I have a few pair of jeans. I think that investing in a good pair (even if it is a little pricey is totally worth it!) I have a pair of GAP low rise or whatever the lowest panel pair is and I like those. I picked ankle size in my normal gap size. Though i know the further along you get your butt and legs get a little bigger...just at the end and some pants that fit you at the beginning can get a little tight:) Terrible, I know, but it goes away. Anyway, you can also wear your jeans after you have the baby for a few weeks because they are comfortable, so again the investment is great. I like the full panel once I am toward the end of my 2nd trimester and into my 3rd because you are so big that it feels better to know your pants won't fall off:)! hahah! I had a pair of full panel from motherhood...they were capris and they fit the best at the end, but right now the panel is too big and the butt is saggy...GAP all they way! I haven't checked out Old Navy because everything maternity there is so big, so let me know what you find and how you like it! There is a gap maternity at keystone in Indy if you are ever there!!!---good date night/weekend:) You are beautiful and will probably look fabulous in anything!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kara! I did try on a few pair of jeans at Motherhood yesterday and really liked them. I liked the full panel, they were really confortable! They didn't have any skinny jeans in my size, so that was a bummber. But it was so good to try pants on and see how everything fits! I think we may need to take a trip to Keystone soon!!! Thanks again :)
